So I was preapproved for an Amex Blue Card. But Applied online without the RSVP number, not realizing that they were going to give me a different APR Rate. So I get the card in the mail today with a 18.24 APR, when I was preapproved in my letter for a 12.24 APR...which is a big difference. I called to see if they could adjust the APR rate and they said it would take 2-3 billing cycles to see if they could approve, but they could not guarantee that anything would change. They said the best thing I could do is reapply for the card using the RSPV number on the preapproval letter. I just called and they verified that they will again have to pull my scores...do you think it is worth it in the end to have the lower apr to take another hit? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get customer service to approve this without having to wait so long.

    Thanks for your help!!!

I used to have perfect credit and then I dealed with American Express.
I learned that the single most important thing when dealing with credit cards is not the interest rate nor the credit limit they give you, but the customer service they have.
It was a nightmare dealing with that company when I had an issue on what I consider to be fraud (thanks to AT&T).

I don't know your situation, but even with an Equifax FICO score of 660, I still get lots of offers in the mail (maybe like 5 a week) and all of them are better than what AM EX is offering you.

How about just realizing that they aren't coordinated and going to a better company?
From what I read in your post, that may be the best option.
And lots of the intro rates that I see are good for 6 - 12 months.
(That's how I bought my motorcycle [on intro rates].)
    Can't beat zero interest.
