I just got turned down for a credit limit increase? It's been six months... perfect credit... use the card every month... put about $1000.00 a month on the card, and then turn right around and pay it off evey month? I don't understand what are they looking for? I have a $2000.00 line of credit, so I stay under 50%.... I just asked for $5000.00.... Turned down?

Hi, Moya - I'm sorry to hear that you were turned down for a CLI. It would be interesting to know what the reason was, but from what I've read here, sometimes it depends on the CSR you happen to get at the time of your call. Maybe you can call Centurion Bank directly? That's who the CSR told me makes the decisions on limit increases, but it's actually processed by Customer Service. I just got my Blue today, and my starting limit is $2000 - I guess my report didn't improve as much as I thought, since he said they decided to make me wait 6 months, LOL Please keep us posted, and good luck if you call back.
at 6 months you hit increase credit line they give you like $500 or so. i'm tapped out on amex. my credit lines far exceed my income, they wont be giving me anything else (as i was told).
