Amex web site shows the new possible rates for the Blue. Other than the old ones, they now have: 10.74% 9.99% Called CS today and the impossible has happened - they've put in a request to lower my 10.99% to 9.99%. They should have a response within 72 hours. Given the last 9.99% fiasco back in January, I'm not getting my hopes high. But, if there's any way to get that 9.99%, I'm gonna get it. Call Blue CS now: 1-888-blue-741. 1. Ask the rep to put in a request for the 9.99%. 2. Won't work? Ask for a Supervisor. 3. Still won't work? Ask for MCS (Retention) or call them directly: 1-877-286-5891. Saar

Their reps are being inconsistent again, and I'm getting a little tired of it. If your credit is good enough, you can get the 9.99% (or 10.74%) by applying online and combining it w/ your existing Blue credit line. (Currently, you cannot get the 9.99% (or 10.74%) if you apply by phone, you must apply online) Here's what I intend to do: 1. Redeem all my BlueLoot (now called "MR Options") points. 2. Convert my Blue to another product that offers an intro-rate fee-free BT. The Cash Rebate Platinum may do the trick). 3. Switch back to the Blue once they can offer me a more competitive APR, or once my credit is good enough to get the 9.99% (or lower) rate. Saar
