Has anyone used the Amex Blue BT checks for 5.9% APR until paid in full, with auto CL increase dollar for dollar of transferred amount? I used one to transfer a $6K balance. The check posted to the account on 2/5 and still no increase. Does the increase take a while to be processed or should it show immediately upon check posting? Thanks!!!
I did mine online. In my case, the limit was increased before the transfers posted. I would just call and ask.
I CAN'T GET THAT OFFER... Can't get 9.99% even...have 12.99%... No increase after 2+ years... NEVER LATE/NEVER OVER-LIMIT... PAID ON-LINE BEFORE I GOT THE BILL IN THE MAIL...(most months)... What is AMAZING is that it was my "PRIMARY" card with DISCOVERCARD... I guess that's why it's in the sock drawer!?!?!?!?!?!
George, If it makes you feel any better none of us with the 12.99% interest rate can get 9.99%. I have contacted Customer Service more times than I care to remember. I just use Amex for month to month purchases and pay it off in full at the end of the cycle. There is a way around the 12.99 though. Contact Amex's customer service department and tell them you want checks with your account (not cash advance ones). They are supposed to be used at companies that don't take the Amex credit card, but if you use a check and carry a balance the interest rate is 8.99%. I don't even bother using the card anymore I just use the checks for big purchases and I still get a lower interest rate then even the 9.99% they offer. Conditions: The checks have to be issued for an amount over $100 and can only be issued to companies, not persons. If you write the check to you, you're stuck with the cash advances fees and interst rate. See there are always loopholes. Dani
