Do you have to give them your BT information at time of application or can you BT after approval?

    From their site:

    Transfer Balances Fee-free
Transfer balances from your higher-rate MasterCard, Discover, and Visa cards to your American Express ® Card account with no transaction fee (for this offer. Fees may apply thereafter). Then enjoy the low APR: as low as a fixed rate of 5.99% for life of balance (until the balance is completely paid off), on BT requests submitted with this application.

Do you loose out on the 5.99% BT if you don't do it on application?

    Thanks

Ok, so if I BT on application, doesn't the acct that I transferred say on CR "transferred or sold"??

Anyway around that? I don't suppose they can cut the check to you to dispurse would they?

No. Your report will only reflect that a large payment was made, or that you have a zero balance. They don't close your other acct if you do a BT. If you want the acct that you BT'd from, then you need to close it.
