Tried for the AMEX Blue and got declined... called and they are now passing it on to a supervisor for review. They pulled my Experian which was 701. They said I did not have enough old revolving credit. I have three cards. Chase Platinum, BofAmerica Secured Card and the base Capital One. The Chase has 5 years of history and no lates. The Cap1 and Bank of America have 10 months history. No lates on any. I have about 70% of credit available on those cards. I should have 90% available after this month. Did I pick a bad time to apply? I dont want any more pulls on my CR. I just got my mortgage as well which hasnt showed up on my CR either yet. Will this help me? Any advice on where to apply. I am looking for a low rate (sub 10%) and a credit line of about $5000. My scores are EX/701 EQ/725. Havent checked the TU lately but usually a little higher than EQ. THANKS!!

I could be wrong, but I think they want you to have 2 open revolving accts with 2 plus years history each.

This happened to me also.. I got a supervisor override. but only a 2k CL. As long as you have no derogs you should get it.. call in a day or so..

    That blows.

I faxed in a reconsideration letter and a new copy of my credit report last friday.

Today I discovered ANOTHER hard inquiry from them on EQ. I was informed that they were NOT going to pull my credit report again.

I am really PO'D over that non-PP they did. I will be litigous if I DON'T get my BLUE approved.

racoon: Expect no more than $2000 if approved and 10.9% or higher APR. Probably 0% intro for six months.

    Did you already tried Citibank?.

Also you could try Fleet or Statefarm.

Not necessarily. When I got the "supervisor override", I was given the standard $2000. However, I got it at 7.9% fixed.

They said I should call back in 6 months for an increase in CL. They pulled EFX, and my FICO at the time was 719 with no derogs.

They did the same to me - faxed a updated copy of my report and they pulled another hard. She told me if changes are present from the report you faxed and the one they received from the buraeu they will pull another report to verify. She told me this AFTER they pulled the additional hard inquiry.

You had an application being processed with them, thats total PP.

I've come to realize that if they say "fax us a copy of your updated report for reconsideration", they're usually lying. Citi did the same thing to me. I faxed them my report, and one day later, they pulled a second hard.

Don't sweat it, I got approved and it has been nothing short of the worst experience I have ever had with a company.

I got approved for 9.99%, but when I got my card it said 12.99%. I called in three times and finally got someone to tell me it was because of 9 inquiries, the "system" automatically kicked me out to 12.99%. I have called and spoke to supervisors, and even a person in the corporate office whose number I was given by a supervisor. They all say that there is nothing I can do.

Now I have written a letter to one of the corporate executives given to me by the person I talked to. We shall see, but I am so getting close to tossing this Blue in the garbage and applying for the MBNA pre-app I got.

My problem is I only have two accounts on my credit report with any age on them.

One is 15 months, and the other is 7.

But, I have a FICO of 738 w/4 inquiries in the last 6 months.

Now then, if they pull a new report from EQ, and I get denied because of my account history, shouldn't they have KNOWN that I would not get approved based on the credit report I sent them before they pulled another hard?

Well what exactly did they do that violated the TILA? They can always come back now and say that they never gave me 9.99%. I don't have anything in writing stating that, that's just what they told me. I am sure they would deny those conversations if they knew they had done something wrong.

Help me understand if they did something wrong here.
