I have a question on their terms....
"7 All transactions are subject to a 3% or $5.00 fee, whichever is greater, with no maximum."

Is this for real? They charge on top of your purchases??????

    I applied for blue.
If I qualify for a lesser card, will they go ahead with that?

Try calling Amex new accounts dept. 1-800-962-7227 .

If you really are not apporved for the blue, maybe you can convince one of their reps to consider you for a lower level card like optima or delta skymiles. The important thing is to get your foot in the door, the benfits are pretty much the same (slightly in blue's favour)

If you can get an Amex green, after 10 to 18 months of activity and on-time payments you are likely to be pre-approved (Amex pre-approvals are real) for Blue.

Register for on-line account access. Once you are registered, when you click on apply for a card they will let you know if you are pre-approved.

For Delta skymiles, what scores are they looking for?

Wouldn't mind trying that card out, then work my way up to Blue...
