When checking my account online a couple weeks ago, I thought I'd hit the "request limit increase" button to see what I would get. I have had my account since march/april of 2001 and have never asked for an increase. I know many have said to call Centurion Bank to receive a higher increase, but I am happy with my current limit. I thought I would receive the standard increase that many have received online of $500. Well, I was taken to a screen to fill out an application.....I don't think so. I don't want a hard inquiry. Anyway, today while checking my account to make a payment, I decided to click on the increase button again. To my surprise, no application came up. Instead, a screen congratulating me on my $1,000 pre-approved increase!! All I had to do was click the button if I wanted it. No hard inquiry!!! The increase was available immediately. My point is, many of us thought (me included) that if you apply for an increase online, you would only receive $500. Apparently, this is not the case or maybe they have changed their system. This will definately help my ratio, especially since Amex is now reporting all accounts. Thought some would find this useful. Have a good day!!
Amex has not recently updated my blue account on any of the CRAs. I wish they would. They also don't report my limit to experian. They claim they updated TU 01/2002, but the info listed is old info - wrong balance and credit limit.
Someone stated not long ago that they just received new software to assist them in reporting card accounts to the bureaus. I hope they keep our reports updated correctly and regularly. They just started and are only reporting on my TU as of last month. Nothing yet on Experian or Equifax. I just paid off my balance, so I will be pretty upset if they do not update my account. Grrrr :-/
