Should I apply for it? I got denied because I had charge-off accounts with them long time ago more than ten years ago. Just waste a hard inquiry from Equifax. Or should I pass? Ron.
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! Just an FYI... I recieved an Amex Blue pre-approval, sounds like same letter. I sent it in and got 20k about 8 days later. Did a BT and kicked a Pvdian card to the curb. I am just 5yrs past BK7. I know it's not the same as a black-list but it kills the BK=NO AMX rumors. (I also have an Amex Green that I kept through BK7). Hope that helps, Shawn
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! Maybe because you kept them through the BK, they're bending their rules? They might think that means you like them more than any other card and will do anything you can to keep them.
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! Still. I think supershawn is a definate exception and not the rule for BK'ers trying to get in with AMEX. Except for him, I have not seen anyone else able to get an AMEX card with a BK n file. I think resident AMEX expert willgator will agree. Hopefully not since I have an 8 year old BK and would love an AMEX card, any AMEX card would do
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! Well, the company I work for has Amex for our corporate cards. I know of at least three other people who have an Amex corp card and prior BK's. On one of the cards, I know my employer (very large) had to guarantee the card. I have no idea on the other two. I didn't request a corp card as I already had an Amex green at the time I started and have just used it for everything. My business expenses average 8-10k a month with travel and my employer reimburses all of it- I guess to Amex this looks like I charge and pay a lot (over 250k membership rewards points last year, woo-hoo!). Maybe this is why they like me. Funny thing that this has come up now though- I just got a pre-approved Amex Gold offer in the mail today. Don't need it but could always get it and ditch Cap1. Or maybe consider myself lucky (based on what others have said) and just stick with the two Amex's I have. Shawn
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! I'm also very tickled with amex lately. I called them to get my Optima Platinum lowered from 9.9%. The lady said they couldn't go lower then 6.9 on the optima, but could instead move my account into the Cash Rebate card instead at 4.99% Thanks Amex!!!! Sal
Re: Re: Amex Blue Pre-approval offers!!!!!! A friend of mine with a prior BK just recieved a green card. I WAS SURPRISED.
