Wife received an invitation to apply for amex blue card in the mail. There is an offer "expires date" and a "RSVP #", but other then that I can't find any difference from this compared to just applying on line? I don't want to waste an inquiry.

I guess I will have to call and find out from someone at AMEX?

They give you BONUS points for the offer...

If they had some "INTERNAL" score system and say you needed 10 points to get the card and you had 8 points...the letter would be worth 2 points so you get the card...

NOTE~~IT IS NOT A "PRE-APPROVED" OFFER UNLESS IT SAYS "PRE-APPROVED" OR "ALREADY APPROVED"

"INVITATION" is not "PRE-APPROVED" and "OFFER TO APPLY" is not "PRE-APPROVED" either.

If they give you a "TOY" card...you can always say FORGET IT!!!
