Hi all, I have this card, but I recently got the AMEX Platinum charge card and I was wondering if I should still keep the Blue (have total of 10 cards) ??? I'll still get the MR points with the Plat and I can always carry balances with my Bofa card. Any suggestions ???

    Thx.

KEEP IT...or if your into MILEAGE...TRADE IT FOR STARWOOD has 20,000 + 5,000 bonus = 25,000 miles for purchases of $20,000...and they also have DOUBLE/TRIPLE points offers from time to time...

    NO INQUIRES--NO APPLICATIONS to trade

    I HAVE AMEX...

BLUE (just combined 2 into 1)

    STARWOOD 2.90% BT

    DELTA

HILTON 2.90% BT then move CREDIT LIMIT to STARWOOD and close HILTON "IF" they won't extend the 2.90%

I say close it out. I had both cards you mentioned (Blue & Plat Charge). Once I decided that I would always use the Platinum Card wherever Amex is accepted why did I need Blue?

It turned into one more thing to keep track of.

As you said - you could always use your visa when you need to revolve.

    Regards,

I have both Amex Plat & Blue. You should never close any account. It will have a negative impact on your credit. About two years ago I closed all unused cards, and my score dropped rather significantly. If there's no fee associated with the card, why not keep it?

BTW forgot to mention that I also have the AMEX Hilton and Starwood cards. That's the main reason I was considering to get rid of the Blue because I use the other cards a lot more. Blue is a really nice looking card though.

THEN close BLUE and transfer the CREDIT LIMIT to STARWOOD or HILTON...

I'm planning on keeping STARWOOD more than HILTON because of the 20,000 + 5,000 BONUS = 25,000 MILES DEAL

I can't get rid of HILTON yet it has the 2.90% BT on it till APRIL or MAY 2004

REDEEM ANY BLUE POINTS FIRST THOUGH...

When the account is closed...POINTS ARE GONE!!!

TOP OFF THE POINTS IF NEEDED...

    REDEEM POINTS

ASK FOR A "NO INQUIRY" CLI

WAIT A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO A MONTH AND TRANSFER THE CREDIT LIMIT TO STARWOOD and/or HILTON AND CLOSE THE BLUE...
