Does anyone know the requirements for this card ? Do they approve for new businesses or does the business have to be established for a while prior to approval ?

    Thanks.

It's all based on your credit score.

Apply for the business blue, if they deny you they will consider you for amex gold business.

I had a 665/705 beacon when i got the business gold (and declined for blue)

Is the Business Gold eligible for free enrollment in Membership Rewards or does this cost an extra $40/yr. ?

The approval process for Amex is a mystery. I have the Costo Business and Corporate Gold cards. The only negative item on my report is a four year old bankruptcy. Both cards were approved post bankruptcy. According to Amex rep's, they cannot approve ANY account if someone has a bankruptcy. To date, I have been unable to get a personal Gold/Green card from Amex. Although they deny it, I think there are separate credit qualifications for their business cards. My gold card was approved based upon a mailed in application. The Costco card was approved via the Internet. I started my "business" for $250 in set-up costs online. There was no operating history as of the application date. Therefore, I know they base 100% of their business credit decisions on the personal credit report. Whatever you do, do not apply over the phone with an analyst if you have a BK.

Extra $40. It's free with the Platinum.
