I don't know what's going on these days...first Discover card upgrade to Platium now Amex wants to give me a Platium Business Card.

Here's the situation...I already have a Amex Gold Business card, which I've only had for approx. 6 months. Received a "Pre-approved Invitation" for a Platium Business card. The form only requires my signature.

My question is...is this an upgrade of my existing account or a new account all together? I would like to have both, Platium for myself as the President/CEO of my company and the Gold for key employees.

    Anyone experienced this?

amex is in financial trouble, they are offering platinum upgrades to everyone to cash in on the $395/year fee's.

I received this same preapproval, I have a platinum charge card now. The funny thing is, I don't own a business!

The annual fee for business platinum is only $300, so maybe if I had a business I'd rather have this card than my platinum ($395).

If AMEX is in FINANCIAL trouble, WHY won't they give me a BT @ 5.90% or a limit increase so they can STEAL business from my other cards???

George, just curious, do you ever carry a balance on any of your cards, not when they are above 10%, but when they are lower, do you ever carry a balance?

That is amazing, how you do not get more offers to lower your rates and increase your limits is a mistery. I pretty much do exactly what I preach, use credit anytime that it is offered at less than 10%, I get an offer on the average of once every 2 weeks or so.
Just got one from First USA at 2.9% for 6 months or 6.9% for the duration of the loan.
