Hi all, I heard that after May 1st, 2003 AMEX cardmembers will no longer be able to use internet prices to make claims as part of the best value guarantee program. Only printed ads will be accepted.

I feel this major change basically kills the program because it's tough to find a printed competitor's ad with a price difference of more than $10 who doesn't have a price guarantee. Many of the popular internet retailers (amazon, buy.com) don't usually send printed ads in the mail and major stores like Staples, Office Max, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. already have price guarantees. Not good at all.

    Any thoughts or comments ???

I've also heard that BVG will no longer be offered on any Optima class card. Time to get a Gold charge.

It will not be offered on the no annual fee Optima cards, but I heard it will stay on the Starwood and Platinum Delta Skymiles cards. If you want to have BVG for the lowest fee, the best bet would be the Starwood card, but BVG isn't going to be as great as it was in the past.
