PLEASE HELP!!!! I have a charged off Amex account in the amount of 9k. This account was written off in 2001 and was posted as deliquent in 1997. It has never been turned over to collections. First, the SOL in my state is 3 years. Does the 3 years start from 1997 or when the account was written off? Second, if the SOL has passed can they still file a case against me? In the last 6 years I have not received any information from them what so ever about this account. Should I just leave it alone and wait for the 7 years to be up on my credit report? Please advise!!!!!!!!
