Junum disputed the most derogatory item on my Experian credit report--a 6/98 Amex charge off. It came back verified. No results from Exp. or TU yet. I need some guidance on where to go next. I plan to purchase a home in September, and this entry is really damaging to me. Should I: 1) Begin with a round of certified dispute letters to CRA and Amex? 2) Let Junum keep working at it 3) Call Amex directly and nicely ask for it to be reduced to "Paid" from "Paid Charge-off"? 4) Threaten a lawsuit, a la Lizard? I welcome any and all feedback here.
