Would anyone who has had success in removing an Amex charge-off please email me?

I believe some have gotten them removed once they paid them?

I had an old paid collection (not sure if it's same as charge-off) deleted on Experian, 6 months before it was supposed to come off due to age. It was never reported to Equifax, and it's currently under dispute on TU.

Amex has been known to delete for payment in many cases. Have you talked to their collections dept?

I got an Amex chargeoff removed using one of the sample letters asking for validation bearing my signature. Amex responded that they don't keep that info after 2 years. I then sent a copy of Amex's letter to all 3 credit bureaus and they all removed it!

    Good luck!

I had my AMEX chargeoff deleted by AMEX.. I paid it, and then a month later called their Credit Bureau Unit in Florida...make up a sad story and ask them if it would be possible for them to delete your chargeoff since you've already payed it off.. They will do it for you... If the CSR doesn't, say Thanks, hang up, and try calling again the next day..

    The phone number is 954-503-3787

    Good Luck!

I managed to get an Amex chargeoff off my reports without paying them. Of course, I listed the chargeoff in my Chapter 7. And when I disputed, it was about 4 years old.
