I've read a few posts over the last few months regarding rumours of bad relations with AMEX & Experian. I don't know if they're true, or if they have anything to do with what's going on with me, but if you have AMEX accounts check this out:

I've gained 80 points on my (worthless) Experian score as the reporting on my AMEX has been updated and corrected. I'm not talking about removing derogs., these accounts have always been reported as positives.

First, for about six months there was no reporting update: all AMEX accounts showed a last reporting date of Oct 2001.

Then a couple of months ago, they all updated - blam! and in the debris suddenly there was a bogus Citibank account (I have no account with Citibank) and a duplication of the Optima account. At this point the score was up 60 points.

Got those disputed and cleared up and got 20 more points today.

80 points due to AMEX reporting errors that didn't even involve negative information.

I'm more and more impressed with credit scoring every day!

My AMEX BLUE is gone from EXPERIAN...all I wanted was the credit limit changed from N/A to $15,500!!!

    THEY REMOVED THE WHOLE ACCOUNT!!!

    It is still gone...A YEAR???

I ASSUME IT NEVER WILL RETURN!!!

I don't know what is going on, but I also sense a dispute between EX and Citi. It never seems to update on EX, and each side blames the other. When this problem was first discussed here last fall, I remember individuals posting that EX was fighting with both Citi and AmEx.

It does not seem to affect my score.

It has been posted here before...EXPERIAN AND EQUIFAX are soon to be DUMPED by AMEX...

I would ASSUME they would just REMOVE everybodys accounts...because you would NOT want your account 4 years from now saying credit limit $5,000 if you have $20,000 and your balance would be FROZEN at JULY 2002's balance...or whenever they STOP using them...

It would be REALLY BAD if you "MAXED" it out and paid it off in full every month after that...but it FROZE @ the "MAXED" amount...
