I logged on today to the amex website and I saw a link for private payments. I signed up and am now able to use private payments with my gold card. I always thought it was a benefit of the Blue card. leo

With private payments you can get a card number thats only can be used once. Don't have to worry about hacked sites, worms etc etc ( or what other ways they get hold of your cc #'s) that are running rampant on the net. the link is www.americanexpress.com/privatepayments Have a look, the site should be able to explain a lot better than I can. lol btw, I think that you will be able to sign up for private option with any amex card, not just blue or amex gold
