Well I called this morning, I was APPROVED!! Should receive card and welcome package in 7-14 days. Thank you all who encouraged me to apply(you know who you are), I would have never tried for Amex at this time, but I am so glad I did! Mom

Re: Congratulations!! I'm so happy,but I knew that you would because it was "PRE- APPROVED". I received the offer also back in 4/99,& even though I had my doubts....I got it ! As stated,AMEX does not send out the offer w/o certainty of approval. Peace, Sister Girl

Thanks all Thanks for all your kinds words. And to answer a few question. I applied for just myself, didn't want to rock the boat with hubby on their LOL, but I will add him as "AU". My credit is rather new I guess, no BK ever, no negatives, opened first credit card in June 99, then racked up 12 cards, but I have closed 7 of them and I think that has helped along with paying down balances. Just closed JCPenney's too, denied my increase but Amex gives me a card go figure, the hell with them LOL Mo
POP GOES THE CORK! My deepest congratulations Mom. Amazing how people CONGRATULATE AMEX Cardholders. They never congratulate Cross Country Bank cardholders! MOM - when you get your package - you will understand that getting the AMEX Personal Card (Green) was an achievement! Your "Member Since" date - 2001 - will appear on all AMEX Cards you ever attain in the future. What a way to start the century Mine says "2000" and I am proud of it. CYA - now you will start enjoying unbelieveable service!
