That's great! I got one this week too. FIVE negatives on Experian, including a released and a current tax lien, a repo and two charge-offs. This is the same American Express who wouldn't give me a SECURED Optima a couple of years ago (they actually sent me a check refunding the $500 I sent in with the application).
hello Molly, How did u apply? did u have to have a supervisor overturn a decline? I am always getting declined for the green card.. I have the optima secured but that does not seem to pull any weight with amex.. thanks molly... Mike...
I applied online, but did not get instant approval. I applied late Sunday night. They said I would get a response in the mail with 7-10 days. Monday morning I called the 800# and it said they were still processing my application and would know within 6-10 days. I called back later that afternoon and it said CONGRATULATIONS you will receive you card in 6-10 days. I called two days later because I could not believe it and this time they said I would receive the card within 3-10 days. I never spoke to a live person, I didnt need an override. The negative on my report is a student from 6/98, it's paid.
