I got this letter on Saturday from Amex who I have have a CO with. It was referred to an outside agency and I have been making monthly payments $400/mo on it. Trust me you do not want to know that amount of the CO. NEways, I get this letter saying that if I pay my balance in full I will get a new Optima card for "up to $5000". Makes me wonder what these folks could be thinking...if I had the money to pay the account in full it would well exceed any $5k Optima balance benefit. Has anyone got this and does anyone of any other offers Amex has? Thanks all.
I too received the offer last year but never acted on it. I took out the letter just last week and called. They told me they no longer handle the account. They also told me that the offer was real. If you can afford it, it might worth it.
