They checked Experian and said it was because of public record contained in my credit file. Experian still shows 9.5 yr. old Ch. 7 and paid tax lien. Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Or do they flat out refuse you if there is a Ch.7?

I am definitely approved for and awaiting my Citi cards. I am waiting to hear from Sears.

    Cariba,

I don't know what Amex looks for in denying people credit for their LOC account. I just received my denial today from Amex. Their reason 'excessive obligations due to income' (not credit inquiries - which was what I was told). I have never been late in my life. So I jotted off a letter to them (not a very nice one at that). You could try planetfeedback or contact their Membership Banking Branch at:

American Express Centurion Bank Client Services
    PO Box 1245
    Moundsville, WV 26041-3245

    Good luck.

Thanks Dani. I really wanted that LOC because it is hidden.

Are you or anyone else aware of any other credit card companies that offer LOCs?

I am definitely writing a letter--I wish they would check another credit bureau--Experian is my absolute worst!

I wanted it too, because it was hidden. I don't know of any other companies with hidden LOCs. Any one else know of any? Thanks in advance.
