AmEx LOC no longer available?? I noticed my account was closed and wasn't sure why.. anyone also notice that AmEx no longer offers this? Anyone know whats up??
Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? Hmm... I just logged into my account on Amex and my balance was still there and I saw no indication of my account being closed.... Although I couldn't find the application for a personal line of credit anymore so perhaps they did pull the plug on new apps. Anyone else can comment on this?

Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? I just wrote a 600 dollar check last week, it went thru fine. I was also able to log into my account online to check the balance.

Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? No I did not have a balance.. I was granted a 25k limit, but it is no longer there now. I called and found out they closed the account.
Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? My balance shows on the Internet. I spoke with C/S. They are not offering AMEX unsecured LOC at this time but will offer it again in the future. She gave no reason why this product for new applications is on hold. Existing accounts are OK they will not close them. I still have my $7,000 CL,.
Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? Ender, I have a 0 balance on my loc that was opened less than a month ago. Today, they said that mine was still open - though they aren't taking any new applications. The CS rep reiterated what Tommy said. They are making some account changes (unspecified) to the current open locs and while they are doing these changes, they are refusing to take on any new loc apps. Once the changes are finished they will resume taking new loc apps. I wish I knew what the changes were. Maybe the ability to negotiate apr and/or credit line??? I would like to know - if you are able to find out - why they did close your loc. That's weird.
Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? Ender, Please call AMEX to get an answer. It would probably benefit all those who have this type of account especially if their goal is to drop everyone's line to their current balance. Please let us know what you find out.
Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? I found out that I willl be receiving a letter.. but they mentioned it's due to my credit worthiness?? That is strange because unless they pulled another CR, then I should be ok. OR they checked the blacklist for AmEx, but I should not have ever got the LOC in the first place! Will keep you guys posted once i get the letter..

Re: AmEx LOC no longer available?? My two LOCs were also closed a month after the accounts were opened back in October01. They requested an original letter from SS to verify my SS#, copy of license and something else. Btw I was traveling and didn't send anything!.
