I saw on another thread that the Amex LOC is ALWAYS a soft inquiry. Did I misread something, or is this true?
It's ALWAYS a soft inquiry on experian. But if you don't get approved instantly, they pull another hard one. For me it was a equifax.
Ah ha. That's great to know. I think I'll wait until the next disputes I have in are resolved and I'll give the Amex LOC a try. Thanks for the info!
That's the first I hear about that. They're not supposed to pull anything else unless you request that they reconsider or change your terms. Did you? Saar
I did not request reconsideration or change of terms. Amex just likes to pull my equifax report. But as long as I get what I apply for, it doesn't matter to me. I thought that it was like that for everyone? guess not.
What is the latest... Is it still NOT reported to CRA? It is still a "SOFT" ? Multiple accounts, as long as you "KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT" ?
Everyone likes to pull Equifax here. I took my little red wagon and went home. Not gonna play anymore. I haven't had an inquiry since May!!!
leo, what is the exact wording of the INQ on your EFX? We've never had a single report of them ever pulling a hard, much less a hard on EFX (we do know they pull a hard EXP for reconsideration / change of terms). Which leads me to believe that the INQ on your EFX has to do with another one of their products (card or otherwise). Saar
lol, it might be, the inquiries are always from american express trs inc. The reason I think that it is related to my loc application is: it appears on my equifax report 2 days after I apply for the loc. It happenend twice to me. And in that period of time I did not apply for any other amex products. But like I said before, it might only be me. I have had a total of 7 amex products since 1998 with amex. Maybe they want to make sure thats everything still is o.k. with me.
Thanks. Now we know it's not Centurion. TRS means "Travel-Related Services". That's the division that handles Amex cards and travel offices. Saar
