My OTH applied 9/23 online and rcvd pending msg- 1 hr later he called 888-356-1006 and got a 10 digit acct number starting with 8. stating you have a zero balance and 25K funds available for disbursal. Well the next day he called again, and this time it said there is no LOC associated with this number. He called CSvc and the rep said the acct number is the number that would be given to him if approved-it is not an approval yet...She could not even tell him if the acct was approved, she said pending still. He was able to get to the online access by inputting the 10 digit acct number but there is nothing listed under Accounts or Loans. Anyone experience this. I think AMEX is getting wind of the recent flux of approved LOC's and reversing them. Shucks and we were looking fwd to the LOC.
THEY HAD TO MOVE TO NEW JERSEY...THEY WERE IN THE BLAST ZONE (WTC)... Maybe they are just having problems???
It's pure speculation of course, but I bet they had a glitch with their system and were more than surprized when they discovered the number of LOC's they had approved and the multiples for certain accounts etc. My guess is they have discovered their oversight in the system design and are hard at work to reverse their mistake and do damage control. -monk
My approvals where not of the instant kind, so I think I have a chance to keep them.... I received the checks for one of the account already. Just waiting for the second one to arrive.
Did you do anything to push the approval over, such as talking to a live person or anything? I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to push mine. I have not yet received a declined letter, but after three days there is also no account setup for my ss# -monk
Yes, It happened to me for the second LOC. I was approved for two LOCs with 8.5 Klimit/each, and had account numbers. Three days later the second of my LOC was deleted. I can only see one of my LOC.
There is no way to see the limit of the LOC online. It just tells you your transactions. It took me about 10 days from the date I applied to receive my checks.
I was approved on the 17th or 18th and received a welcome package 5 days later. The welcome package lists all the accounts you are approved for. three days after the welcome package came the checks arrived, Each account has its own separate book each of which arrived in its own envelope mailed separately. Since the approval the accounts and the amount of available credit have been available on the phone. I sure hope these lines dont dissappear, I wrote a check off of one to my checking account yesterday. We shall see.
Okay, Monk you were right, their systems were up and down but the system gave us an account number and the same information that we had on day one. He is waiting for the letter and checks. Just wondering, how does this LOC work? Do we pay it back in one lump sum payment or is it spread out like a credit card? Anyone have the answer, pls reply tnx so much.
