I know several have posted multiple LOC with AMEX and others have had more than one and the other was closed, this happened to me, I got the second line and never used it and about 2 weeks after having it, the line disappeared. Now my friend on the other hand had 2 lines and utilized them both. So I am wondering if you can have more than one line as long as you use it??

    Any thoughts??

I had 6 lines, they closed 5 of them, causing bounced checks on 2 of them. I wrote the checks as soon as I received them, then about the same time the checks bounced, I received notification from them that they were closing the accounts because they only allow 1.

AMEX did cover all of my fees for 3 returned checks. Luckily I did not have any bounced checks as a result when I wrote personal checks against their stiff checks. My problem took 3 weeks to resolve though..System Glitch so they say! They promised an apology letter and $200 cash certificate in 3-5 days but I've been waiting over two weeks for this. I called last Wednesday and they guaranteed both would be in my mailbax last Friday. Nothing came Friday or Saturday. Again, the people are nice there, and they make a lot of promises they can't keepl There just not cut out to be a real bank. They have severe inter-office process problems. Over time I predict they will stop their banking adventure unless they can find the right person to come in and turn their company around. Just my thoughts! Their simply pathetic!

Received my $200 cash cheque and apology letter from AMEX Membership Banking today via certified mail. I can't wait until they screw up again, I could use another $200. I'm sure it won't take long!

But they didn't tell you to send tax returns for a PIDDELY increase of $4,500 on your BLUE card AFTER 2 PERFECT YEARS...

I SENT EXPRESS LETTER TO THE CEO...
    "TAX RETURNS AINT' GONNA HAPPEN"
"THE CARD IS IN MY SOCK DRAWER COLLECTING LINT"
"THE LAST CHARGE HAS BEEN MADE"
"THE ACCOUNT IS PAID IN FULL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT YET DUE"

They did the same thing to me. I was approved for two. I used the 25K, 7.99 one. The 20K. 8.99 one was closed by AMEX. But the kicker here is the rate that the interest accrues. I wrote myself a 10,000.00 check in November, paid 1000.00 in December. I just received my statement and the interest is 111.00 to date. Are they loansharks or the mob?

There is no grace period. Interest begins accruing when the check is posted. Interest is compounded daily - just the same as almost any other credit card or line of credit product.

But what is the method of calculating the interest rate - average daily balance?

I have 2 lines and have successfully used both of them. I used the 1st one right away. The second one I waited, expecting Amex to close it. They never did, so I wrote a "test" check on it last month and it cleared no problem.
