I just received my AMEX Green Rewards card today and my wife received a Pre-Approval offer last week regarding the same card. In the offer it states that AMEX will start her off with 5,000 Membership Rewards Points. I applied over the phone the day before she received this offer. Is there any way where I can get the 5,000 points on my new card? What number should I try calling to see if I can get this offer? Thanks.
I had to call CS (8003321957) and explain the same preapproval that you recieved to them. They investigated and within a month my 5,000 points were posted on my account!
rjones.. I called that cs number and they told me that I would have to receive that solicitation offer for me to receive the 5,000 points. What should I do? I really want those points.
Call the Executive Offices at 1-800-297-6197 and explain the situation to an Executive Assistant. I once had to ask for $50 from them for a Financial Advisor promotion and the guy credited my account by $50 AND gave me an extra 2500 points for my trouble.

Ask for an Executive Assistant. You may need to tell the receptionist what the problem is, but they will transfer you to an assistant.
