Hi all, I'm thinking about enrolling in this program through my AMEX Optima Platinum, but I was wondering how many points are required to get a free flight from say NY to Florida? Do you get one point for every dollar you charge for all purchases?

    Thanks.

Depends on which airline you transfer your points to. For most airlines, a round trip domestic coach class ticket usually takes 20,000-25,000 miles (or points)...

You get 1 point for every dollar you put on your Amex. So you'll have to spend $20-25K to get a free ticket.

You'd be better off trying to catch a sale on Delta Express or MetroJet than trying to spend $25K on Amex. If you want to do that than get the Delta Optima which gives you bonus miles for signing up and extra miles for each dollar spent.

You CANNOT enroll in Membership Rewards, unless you hold at least one of their CHARGE cards. The Optima Platinum isn't one.
