Hi all, I have a question for the AmEx veterans on the board. I just enrolled both my Blue Card and my Green card in the Membership Rewards Options Program. There was no annual fee for either card, since MR Options says that if you enroll both cards at the same time, that they'll charge the lowest fee for each card (in my case $0, since MR Options for the Blue is free). So my Green card is in MR Options for free, though the normal MR would have been $40, had I enrolled the Green card in that. 1. What am I missing? What is the difference in MR and MR Options? 2. If there is a difference, then can I enroll my Green card in both the MR Options and the original MR? 3. Where does BlueLoot come into all of this? Which is the better program, in your opinions? Thanks in advance,
Hi all, I called MR customer service at 1-800-axp-earn and found that there is a difference. It takes twice as many MR Options points to earn hotel/airline rewards as plain MR. :-( I can still enroll my Green card in regular MR (for $40) and link the Blue to that for free. I'll wait for a solicitation to get the regular MR enrollment for free or cheaper than $40 if I can swing it. $95 a year for a Green with MR? Saar, I think I may look into the Gold Rewards Plus Card now...
