Has anybody else had a problem with Amex not reporting new accts? I've had mine since the beginning of May and it is not showing on any report.
So, everybody's new accts w/Amex are being reported.......and correctly? Great. Glad to not hear it. LOL
LKH: I am so far from an AMEX, it's not even funny! I wish I had that problem. However, from what I've heard Amex does report to all three credit bureaus.
I got my Optima card in October and it took about 9 months before it started reporting to anyone. When I was AU on OAOA's Gold Charge, it reported right away (less than 30 days) to Equifax and about 8 or 9 months to EX and TU.
Oh just wait, the fun hasn't begun yet for you! They don't update very often either, unless you BT a large amount to your card. Pay it off and they wait another 6 months to update. It's a blast.
LKH, AmEx normally doesn't report accounts for about 2-6 months from the time they are opened. And with the drama going on bewteen AmEx and Experian and AmEx and Equifax, that reporting may never happen period. I have found their credit bureau reporting dept. (1-954-503-3787) to be very nice and helpful re reporting what you want reported and deleting what you want deleted (for customers in good standing, anyway). If they ask for your coded account number (i.e. look for the full coded account number on TU), tell them that they aren't reporting your account anywhere and that they'll HAVE to search for you by SS#.
