Saar - THX for the great snap about the newest AMEX benefit. FREE internet access @www.amexOL.net It is now only for Cardholders. What a totally brilliant market concept. Imagine the vendors paying huge dollars to put an AD on the AMEX net. This again makes the $55 fee a bargain - particularly since I pay $39 month for DSL in CA. AMEX continues to pioneer the "Card relationship". I registered completely and it is a great overlay on Internet Explorer. A floating American Express logo is now on my screen as well. One click to all AMEX sites. It's hard to believe this is a credit and charge card company. I now bank with them, charge with the Green Card, use their phone services, and now internet. This is my year for the Gold! AMEX stock is probably always a good buy too. CYA Dogman
RE: AMEX Online - AMEX Leads A Maybe - oddly enough, if you let the browser stay too long at one site, ADS appear. Barnes Noble, etc. I think its well done, but I snapped back over to explorer on my already paid DSL. Still, most people would not find it offensive - the ads are pleasant enough - but to an internet guy, I won't use it too much for that reason. CYA Marketeers Dog
RE: AMEX Online - AMEX Leads A I just wanted to add one more little thing about Am/Ex. My wallet got stolen and I had 3 Am/Ex cards in there (Optima Secured, Corp, and Gold) and they replaced 2 of the 3 cards (Gold was left out). I needed my Gold card as I was leaving town the next day. They sent me to an Am/Ex Travel office and they made me a Gold card RIGHT THERE ON THE SPOT! I was amazed. My other 2 cards came Airborne Express. The only thing that botherd me about that was that they just left the envelopes on my porch and I didn't have to sign for them. Also, when I logged on to their web site to register my new cards, I didn't have to re-register my Corporate and my Optima as they had already had my new account numbers! The only card that I had to re-register was my Gold. I was impressed. Go American Express!
Morning MP THX - I wondered how they came through with their 24 hour Card Replacement. I gather each AMEX Travel Office can make an immediate replacement card. THX - Dogman
There is a way around this "Still, most people would not find it offensive - the ads are pleasant enough - but to an internet guy, I won't use it too much for that reason." Dogman, if you don't like the ads, disable them. Press Ctrl-Alt-Del, then "end task" GluOn. Voila! Free service and no ads. Saar
