Hi all Has anybody had any luck changing their Secured Optima to an Unsecured card? I have had mine for two years now and have gotten nothing but the run around from AMEX. Each time I call, I get transferred to another person and another and another. Nobody seems to know who I am supposed to talk to. Any suggestions? Thanks
if you cancel the optima secured, do they send you to retention or anything like that. It is really ashame that when I opened the account in may of 99, I opened under the pretense of building a good payment history and getting the card unsecured. Instead, I get the reply that you have to apply for another card and I get knocked down again.. Thanks again for hearing me, and let me know what happened when you closed your amex optima secured as I still have mine... Bye.. Mike
They just closed it and said goodbye! She actually said ok and we will refund your deposit in blank blank weeks. I saw NO future at all in them unsecuring my card from reading others post. I closed in 10/00.
I think I am going to just go ahead and close it. I too opened it with the intention of getting it unsecured after a year. How long did it take to get your security deposit back? Thanks
When I closed my account in May, the rep said that it could take up to 90 days. I called every single day for 2 weeks and they made an exception and wired the deposit to my account in less than 20 days. CardKid
