I have had my Amex Blue for several months. 3 billing cycles have closed, but my account is still not reported to the bureaus yet. Is this normal? I thought they were pretty quick to report. I guess I will have to call them if it is not reported after this billing cycle closes. How long did it take them to report your account? Thanks for any info!

    Miles,

I would give them a call. I received my card in February 2000 and it was reporting by the end of March. A month or two should be all it takes.

Why not wait six months to avoid the negative impact of a new account on your score?

    Hey Miles!

Miles - call them. They started reporting my Personal Card on all reports within 30 days.

I saw other posts about new acct status being negative - AMEX certainly is not a negative! :)
Hope all is well - dogman

My Blue account stopped reporting to Equifax for 6 months, and was eventually REMOVED altogether. I've contacted Amex Credit Bureau Unit numerous times, but to no avail. They have to do something about that incompetent unit within Amex.

    Question for the Wise:

What minimum FICO score is required for AmEx Blue?

    Randy,

It all depends on your income, additonial credit, etc., but I think it's safe to say anything around 680 or above.

    Re: Hey Miles!

Thanks, Dani and George! My Equifax score is up to 645 now (as of yesterday), which is WAY up from my pre-repair score of 564 back in March. I guess that's still way too low for AmEx Blue. At what point should I think about applying for AmEx Green?

    Amex pulled Experian on me.

As long as your accounts are in good standing I would try applying for Amex Green now. Give Amex a call and ask for their criteria concerning Green. I say this just because I don't want you to waste an inquiry if my prediction is way off base. Good luck and let us know what happens.
