AmEx Reporting History

American Express has always only reported the 30 day history of the account every month, so a good payment history never helps with a FICO score. Also, on the account, since there is no credit limit, no credit limit is reported.

    Two questions:

Any idea how to get AmEx to report the full account history? I've asked nicely and they've just said that's the way it is, too bad. Is there any FCRA violation going on here?

If no CL is reported, how does this affect FICO? I've had $70K+ outstanding (paid in full monthly - all business expenses that are reimbursed - great for airmiles) and the payment history is spotless with them, but when I go to apply for a car loan or something, the credit manager freaks out. I show him years of statements showing everything paid in full, but, of course, "the system" limits what he can do for me.

    TIA,

    Jeff
