I know this question has been posted before, but I can't find the answer for it in the search engine. Does anybody with an Amex account have their credit limit being reported to the bureaus? Right now my credit report is showing $3400 balance and a $3400 credit limit. It looks like I'm using 100% of the credit line instead of only 40%. Hecht's is the only other one who is not reporting my score. Any luck on either of them? I appreciate any and all help. Thanks. Dani
Jacqui, How did you get Equifax to report your Blue limit? Equifax was my main concern. I have never had a creditor pull my TransUnion report and only one pull my Experian so if I could get Equifax to report my limit that would be great. Thanks. Dani
Dani, I didn't do anything - when I got the card in January, the limit wasn't being reported. It was just added recently (within 2-3 months?) Jac
Thanks for your replying. I wish mine would just show up. Maybe I will dispute with Equifax and send them a copy of my statement showing my credit limit. Knowing my luck they won't consider that to be proof. Have a good weekend. Dani
Dani--- I have an Amex Delta Platinum Skymiles card, I checked all three of my CRs and none of them report my credit limit ($9,500). akg
George, you're right it's not accurate, but the lending institutions and credit bureaus make their own rules. Dani
Thanks, George. I was thinking about doing that. I'll send it off to them on Monday. Have a great weekend. Dani
Dani -- No credit issuer is required to report the limits, although they should. Have you contacted Amex about having them report it?
George - I don't understand what you're saying. I'll get back to it tomorrow or Sunday though...right now on the west coast it's Friday Night Party Time!
Lionel, I called Amex and they told me they do not have to report the credit limits to the bureaus. I'm hoping if I send a copy of my statment to all three credit reporting agencies will report the credit limit. Even if they need to verify this with Amex my credit limit still stands. Dani
That will be the end of an ongoing relationship with AmEx for me. I am not getting/using any cards that do not report limits. Cap One is on the way out as soon as I can replace the limit somewhere else. They have to know they're screwing up our scores. WTF??? That's no way to treat a good customer. breeze
