Hi all, if you switch from one Optima product to another will the old card be reported as "closed by consumer" and the new card include the history of the old card or does Amex delete the old tradeline and replace it with the new one, keeping the history ?

    Thx.

Amex hasn't been reporting to experian for me... I opened a cash rebate card in August 2001 and that is still not on my experian.

As far as reporting opened date, I had a gold charge card, but upgraded to a platinum charge card. The gold says "closed by consumer", and the platinum has the gold card's open date. So that's a good thing I guess.

LOL, I got a Privista alert last week about a new account opened in my name. I got all excited and went to see what it was - it was the AmEx being moved from inactive to active. However, the information and reporting date did not change. It's still October's information.
