Does anyone bother with the amex sign and travel? They offered me 1250 membership rewards poiunts for joining it, but I'm afraid I'll use the feature instead of paying in full and I'll end up owing them money? Did anyone else get this offer? Did you accept it?

i would take the rewards points. I have the green amex rewards card and I qualified for "extended payment" after six months of being a cardholder. FYI, "extended payment" extends charges of $200 to revolving on that portion of your charge account and "sign and travel" only extends travel related charges over.

I took it for rewards points - it is wierd. It showed up on my report as a 0 CL but did not appear to affect my score. Then I put some stuff on it to make it show a CL higher than 0 and it was really strange- it appears when you select charges to pay over time those charges get added to the next month's "pay in full" balance, and also to the extended payment balance. Anytime you make a payment, if there is a payment showing due on S&T, they apply part of the payment to the S&T instead of giving you an option which you want to pay. I really don't like it - paid it all off and do not plan to use it again.

Same here, I signed up for the MR points. I do not plan to pay over time though - the rate is like 14% or something.

Right! Don't bother with trying to show a limit - it made no difference whatsoever. Just leave the 0 there.

I agree with you Breeze-- the way they apply payments to S&T makes it inconvenient to use--

I have actually had this happen-- $100 balance on
open $300 balance on S&T-- paid $400 before statement closing date with this result: -$300 credit on open $300 still owing on S&T! I've had to call to get things readjusted.

They also told me that the only way you can qualify for a low APR on S&T is if you carry at least a $1000 balance! No thanks.

Best not to use it at all.
