Amex Starwood annual fee

    The card has a $30 annual fee (as of the 2nd year of membership).

    It has been reported on Flyertalk that if you call to cancel the card, they would try to keep your business by issuing a fee-waiver of up to $25.

    The Hilton card has no annual fee.

    Have you heard of any such deal for Amex Platinum? Will they budge on the $395?

    Yes, sometimes Amex MCS (1-877-286-5891) would offer a partial refund if you threaten to cancel.
