I said it before , that I wasn't going to apply for anything else. Well I did, and this time it was the Amex student card. Well I was denied , and they pulled EQ. Im going to call tomorrow and ask for reconsideration, will this result with another hard inqiury on my report ? I sure hope not ! After calling what do you guys think my chances are ? My EQ score is 719, Cap. One reporting for 10 months , 3 inquires in the past 6 months. I also have a Target guest card that I recenly got but it's not reporting yet. Im sure when I call to find out why I was denied they'll tell me inquires and credit history is too short. But its a STUDENT card, would history be that big of a deal ? Well what do you all think ? Thanks in advance....

I think they like to see a solid credit history with multiple accounts that are a few years old. As for inquires, I had 9 and was still approved for the green. Your score is very good so maybe next year this time when your accounts age more they will approve you. Then again with your score, maybe you can get a reconsideration.

Even with a "student" card ? Most students dont have that much of a history, very weird...

Im not sure what their criteria is for the student card. Maybe the magic number for the student card is one year of credit history, who knows? I wouldnt worry about it, time heals all wounds, if you maintain your score and solid history the offers will come pouring in. Especially in college, when I was in school, it seemed I recieved a new credit card offer daily.
