AmEx Updates?

    Guys, how often does AmEx update balances on your credit reports?

    I noticed a really annoying trend. When we charge a lot on the card and balances go higher, they literally report every month. But when we are paying the balance down in big chunks, they don't update for like 3 months.

    I have loaded about $20,000 in AmEx in February. God Bless it's the middle of May and the balance still shows the old numbers.

    Although I don't charge as much as you, I've experienced the same thing

    I haven't experienced that with their charge card. However, I would dispute the balance after you have paid it down. This usually gets them to update faster.

    I have the same problem.

    I sent them a letter telling them it needed to be updated and at the same time, also disputed it with the CRAs as balance incorrect.

    I feel your pain ... I know paying this card down should have a healthy impact on my score, and I really want to know just how much of a difference it will make.

    Other than disputing, I don't know what else to suggest ...

    Thanks for the replies, I will probably put one more big chunk in it and then dispute if they don't update.
