I called and talked to a Rep about what where the possibilities of upgrading my Green Card to Gold? She said my payments were great - then I told her about how AMEX helped me restore after HIV that led to Chap 13, and she asked me several questions about how was I doing, etc. It turned out she had a friend with AIDS, and I gave her my drug regimen to tell to her friend. REALLY great conversation ... When I mentioned the Chap 13, she said I should call New Accounts, and based on what she saw, it might be possible. KXXXXXXX helped me immediately, I ran through the history and Chap 13, she saw I made $150K, perfect pyments since Chap 13 - THEN SHE SAID: It would be the same account, upgraded from your Green Card. She should know something within 7 days. This is not an additional account, but an extension of your Green Card payment history. I thanked her and hung up. Again, the manual overrides go to the New Accounts group. She was reading my credit report as we talked. FYI - those other positive entries were Cap 1 / Providian / FCNB / so they do rely more on the credit history and income for the Gold upgrade. You all think I will get it? I did not have to apply or anything, and I charge around $1500-2K each month for six months. Gotta know your thoughts experts! CYA Dogman
