Approximately a yr. ago,amex closed my acct. (because cccs was not making the pymt.) and forwarded to Coldata. I refuse to pay Coldata after numerous threats and sent them a c & d letter. I also sent numerous letters to amex requesting that they take back the acct and delete the negative items on my cr. Well, they did!!! Although my statement says "handled by ca", they removed the late pay and collections remark. I paid off the acct 2 mos. ago and rec'd a $0 balance statement. Coldata just sent me 2 letters saying "you have a balance of $85 and must pay it and put an end to this unpleasant situation...your occasional payments are unacceptable..." What should I do? Call Amex, ignore...any suggestions????
I thought you said you already did... Just keep a copy of your documentation that you sent the fisrt one, and the letters they sent afterwards. More ammunition if you end up suing them.
