I have been using my AMEX card (Gold charge card) a lot lately in excess of $5000 each month....they are a little worried and have shut it down a few times... since I have went from $2000 a month to more then $5000
either way I am wondering if using this card which i prefer since I can track my spending would affect my score? Being that $5000 plus dollars will be due back in a 30 day period........ thanks any help will be great..... oh and I just paid down almost %50 of all my cards will my score go up a lot? Mark

Should, but who knows? Sometimes when they should go up they go down and vice versa.

    Mark,

Amex has been giving me the same headaches as well. I wen't from charging under 1k to charging in excess of 2.5k and they called me occasionally to ask me my about my personal resources.

From what I understand, Amex watches your regular spending patterns, and if they notice a big change they freak. Also, I have discovered they do regular account reviews, and if they see negative credit they cease charging on your account until they can talk with you. I realize this all can be a big headache - but I guess we have to weigh this against the security measures we are recieving.

Basically as crappy as they are, I like amex because it forces me to pay my bill off every month, so this does somewhat curb your spending habbits.
