Is it common for a current card issuer to periodically run a credit check?
Have the Equifax credit watch. They (credit watch) e-mail me to say "New Inquiry"
Turns out to be AMEX. I did use the "Will I be approved feature" (this feature is to check if your current account will be approved for a purchase that day) the same day.
My score on equifax is unchanged. Any thoughts ideas?
I also checked on my two AMEX cards online, both in listed in good standing.

Credit cards now-days run a "SOFT" almost EVERY MONTH...they are trying to find a reason to "JACK" your rate...

See my AMEX related post to Brenda on the Business Cards thread . . . because they didn't like something they apparently saw in my financial situation, they sent me to collections for 7 days past due (on an acct I'd had for years and had always paid on time).

There are some other threads on this - card companies have had perfect customers suddenly take bk on them - no late pays, no delinquencies, no warning at all. Bk's are way up, delinquencies are way up - they are all nervous. So they are checking everyone all the time. Don't be late. You could end up with your rates going through the ceiling or your account being closed, or both.
