DH has an inquriy from AmGenFin, which I guess must be American General Finance on this TU report, dating back to 6\21\2001.

He had one account with them that was opened on 6\1\96 (loan for appliances) and closed on 8\1\97 (as per TU reporting).

I realize that this inqury is going to fall off within the next two months, but do you think it's worth it to write these folks and ask why did they pull a hard on him? There was no business relationship, and he did not apply for any credit with anybody during that time, so it looks like non-PP big time.

I just don't know whether it's worth to rock the boat about this.

This close is not worth it. I pick and choose my lawsuits. For example, I have a few letters from creditors who did unauthorized hard inquiries. As long as they have me no hassle and deleted them I let them off the hook. After all, when I sue for real I do not want them to look at court records and start harping on my dozen lawsuits filed in 1 year. We are not out to win the battle- we want to win the war. I even sued a CA and let them off easy with deletion, paying my legal fees, and they pay the stupid debt they were so gung ho on me paying. It cost them under $200. I sued another CA for 3k and I let them off for 1k although I have yet to see the promised check. They already deleted. Even though they screwed me for over 7 months they caved in quickly after I filed and got their attention so I let them go on 1 fcra violations. No, I am saving my monetary damages for the scum of the earth- EXPERIAN.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of letting this one slide since it was about to disappear and just wanted a second opinion.

Good luck with your EXP lawsuit, they haven't been much of a pain in the ass to me, but someone should sue them just for their customer service, or rather lack thereof.

I am saving money for TU and their complete lack of regard for the governing law. I'm waiting for them to claim again, and this time in writing, that my DH's file is not split. He already called them and the rep he spoke to was actually offended that DH dared to suggest that TU could screw up something. According to the rep there is no split file, yet I have two TU reports in my filing cabinet, with two different member numbers, two different 'you've been in our files since' dates and with one report having whole 3 tradelines. Geez.
