I called friedmans jewelers (the closest one is around 2 hours from me.) I asked if I can close my card account after I pay my remaining balance of 53.32.

The rep. told me that my account is NOT a charge card. It is in fact an installment account. So, even though i have a limit...its still considered a "retail installment contract"

So, she said that after i pay off the 53.32, i dont have to close the account. But, they will report the contract satisfied and payed off.

She also said that if i wanted to ever use my account again to start a new "contract" that i can, and they will raise the limit. I can just come in and purchase what ever jewelery i want!

Thats great, im sending a check tomorrow for the remaining balance.

Now, im at 9 credit cards, still counting down!
