We have talked about this before, and decided it would be at Nave's pad. It's BYOB, and bring a dish to pass (not the neighbor's hot wife either).

Kidding!!!! We have discussed doing this, but nothing came of it. I thought it was a great idea, and don't forget, you are invited to Supershawn and my reception when we decide to have it.

Yes, we have discussed it, then my life kinda blew up on me, and I never got back to Nave. I think the east coast creditnetter's should do what I did last spring - get one of those gorgeous houses on the Outer Banks, and have ourselves a par-tyyyy

It can be a business expense. One night's dinner will be on me. Fresh flounder, anyone?

    Hey thanks.

I wasn't around then so I have no knowledge of it.

As I live in Alaska was a tour guide in an earlier life, I thought I would invite everyone up in the summer.

    Forget about the winter though....

If its on the east cost I'll bring the King Crab...

I used to play trivia with a group on AOL (ok, no jokes please, heh), and we would meet every year at something we called the "Annual Bash." The people who were too paranoid to actually meet the rest of us just chose not to come, and you have to respect that of course. But a hefty number of people chose to show up and had a great time. The only issue was "West Coast" vs. "East Coast" because you really want to have it within driving distance if you can; for that reason we would alternate year by year.

Ok, Knoxville, Tennessee is a nice central spot. We intersect both Interstate 40 (east and west), 75 (north and south), and 81 (northeast/southwest). Even better, the hotel rooms are very reasonable here. I realize Knoxville would suit me just fine since I wouldn't have to drive to get there, LOL... but the 1982 Worlds Fair (anybody remember that but me?) was held in Knoxville because our city was quite near the population center of the entire eastern half of the United States, so I'm not entirely being selfish suggesting Knoxville. (Ok, I am.) As a bonus, we're right near the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge (home of too much kitsch, including Dollyworld, lol). Finally, for you west coasters, we do have a nice airport serviced by Delta, Northwest, American, and others, and if you shop around and buy a ticket a long time in advance you can do round-trip for under $200 easily. (Or use frequent flyer miles and show up at no cost!)

Irrespective of location, we should pick dates. How about Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6? Many people will easily skip work Friday, so that may be convenient.

I'd love to meet everybody. We spend a lot of time together here online. It would be fun to spend some time eating, drinking, and being generally merry together. Thoughts?

    Doc

Iowa has a little variation, it has some hills and flat areas also. Northern Iowa is more hilly, while southern iowa, towards missouri, is more flat. The best place to go is along the mississippi river in the fall. The trees are beautiful then.
