I had some medical procedures done and got a letter from the provider that said my insurance information could not be verified. I sent them the correct information, but didn't CRRR, didn't think I had to. Then I started getting letters from a collection agency demanding payment a few months later.I then photocopied my insurance card AGAIN and sent this with a letter to the provider, but CRRR this time. I got a letter back saying no account exists.
Should I send C&D with a validation letter to the collection agency? What if by the time all this settles and provider "finds" this account, that there is a SOL that has passed that insurance would have paid and now does not pay?

I just got off the phone with my states collection board and this collection agency is not licensed nor bonded to collect debts in my state. How do I proceed from here? Let them know they cannot legally collect from me?

Pick up the phone and call the insurance company and find out what the problem is. It might be very easy to solve. Just don't give up until you get an answer.

Insurance companies and doctors are great blaming each other for their screwups. You suffer in the end.

There is no one out there who will help you on this one. You have to get to the bottom of it yourself.

I just spent seven months to get a doctor bill taken care of. The doctors office said they sent the bill to the insurance company but never got paid. They refused to send it again. The insurance company said they never got the bill so could not pay. They refused to call and ask for another copy. I even offered to set up a three way call. Both sides refused. The bottom line is they are terribly inefficient. Get calling. Now
