Ok..when you file for BK 7..all included accounts should be updated to 0 balance. right?? How about if you included a bank that you owed money to and in turn reported you to Chexsystems?? Would the bank have to let chexsystems know that the amount owed is now 0? and would that clear up my chexsystems report? I have a chexsystems report on the way to me now and how should i dispute the balance the bank says i owed? should I say this was included in bk or should I just request verification and hope for the best???
Since Chexsystems also works as a collection agency I would assume that they are subject to the same laws other creditors are - I would send them a letter pronto! With a CC: to the bank advising them they are breaking the law -- isn't there someplace they can be reported to, anyone? I'd love to see chexsystems go down in flames!
I included a bank in my chapter 7 in August of 98. I had a money line, after I filed they paid an automatic withdrawal (insurance). Latter they reported this as a bounce check to Chex system. Tried opening a savings account in April and was turned down. Went directly to the bank and asked them to resolve the issue. It took research two days to figure out what happened. I paid the withdrawal and bounce fee and they removed the entry from Chex system. The other banks request Chex system send me my file, I never received it. Chex system does have to comply with all laws, they are a pain to deal with.
